German M16 Camo

German Model 1916 steel helmet with camouflage complete with liner and chinstrap. The stamp on the visor is B.F. 62 for by F.C. Bellinger, Fulda in size 62. The size is also nicely marked with an ink stamp on the rear skirt section. When I bought this helmet, it was just a shell with exceptionally fine camouflage paint. I restored it using an original M16 liner, chinstrap and split pins. The only non-original component is the drawstring which is a facsimile. Unlike most surviving German WWI helmets, the liner on this one is intact with no pull-throughs on the liner tabs. The liner lacks liner pads. The original chinstrap has brass hardware which would be correct for an early production M16 helmet with leather band. The chinstrap and liner are in a fragile state and I have secured fragile spots on both with two small black binder strips to prevent damage from handling or shipment. Here’s a chance to get a basically original M16 camo helmet at about half the cost of what a dealer would charge for a similar helmet.

$1,195 + shipment cost + transaction fees if any
